Golf Physical Fitness:

Improve Performance While Staying Safe

Once your child has started playing golf and becomes more interested in the sport, he is going to want to develop more distance. Golf physical fitness plays an important role in this as your junior golfer becomes more serious. However, safety is an issue for young golfers as they need to be able to find the right exercises that will improve their game without injury.

Pros like Camilo Villegas have made golf physical fitness training popular. Fortunately, it is easy to find information about junior golf fitness online.

Online golf fitness programs, such as the one found at Fitness for Golf, develop personalized programs for juniors for a yearly fee. As with all online programs, it is essential that your junior golfer is committed to reading the tips and working through the program online. This program charges a yearly fee of $99.

This program was developed by Susan Hill, who is a nationally certified golf fitness training expert. She is also a columnist for Junior Golf Scoreboard and golf fitness consultant to the International Junior Golf Academy, and writes about fitness training for junior golfers.

You can also order Susan Hill’s terrific eBook about golf physical fitness, Golf Fitness for Juniors. It costs $29.95 to download the eBook, which is chock full of golf specific flexibility, stability and strength exercises.

Another fitness option is to have your child work with a trainer at a fitness club. Many clubs, including local YMCAs, often have trainers that have specialized sports training. Your child may just need a couple of sessions with the personal trainer to help set up his fitness program, and then your child could just work out on his own. Many clubs also have reduced rates for young teens and package deals for training sessions with memberships.
