Junior Golf Irons:

How and Where to Purchase

Junior golf irons can be purchased by the set or separately. Most of these irons will be easy to hit, lightweight and forgiving, making it easier for your beginning golfer to enjoy the game. You will need to take your child with you to check out the clubs because you'll need to know his height and arm length.

Different manufacturers have different sizing charts, but are somewhat similar to the U.S. Kids Golf Club Fitting Chart for junior golf irons:

US Kids Golf Fitting Chart

We found that buying the US Kids Golf clubs as they were needed worked well for us; their ultralight clubs are the #1 choice worldwide for beginning golfers. Still, many kids want to start out with a set such as the TaylorMade Burner Junior clubs.

We just saw the new TaylorMade Burner Junior club sets while hanging out in our local golf shop and the sets are awesome! The sets come in two sizes, one for 4-6 year olds and another for 7-10 year olds. They both feature 320cc Burner drivers and Rossa mallet putters along with the other clubs and bag. Amazon has the sets on sale; the smaller set lists for $299.99 and is on sale for $189.99 and the larger set lists for $349.99 and is on sale for $199.99. The driver is gorgeous! If you're in the market for new clubs for your kid, make sure you take a look at these. The kids LOVE the flames on the clubs (we know, you wish you could have them on yours too)!

As your child gets older and stronger, you may find that the superlight, flexible shafts in his irons become too whippy. At that point he needs to talk to a golf professional to see about moving up to a heavier, stiffer shaft such as steel. Until then, these sets available in our Amazon store would be the ones we would recommend.
