Junior Golf Shoes:
Keep Their Feet in Great Shape!
When your child starts out playing golf, you’ll probably want him to wear his sneakers until you know whether he is really interested in the game. If, after a while, he decides that he is going to play a little more seriously, it’s a good idea to make an investment in junior golf shoes.
While it may seem expensive to buy golf shoes for growing kids, it is very important that they have well-fitting, comfortable shoes, especially because they are growing. Keep in mind that juniors have to walk the course carrying their bags and there’s nothing worse than an ill-fitting shoe; it can ruin their day and affect your score.
Smaller kids don’t have that much choice when it comes to golf shoes, but FootJoy, Nike and Adidas all make good shoes for juniors. Pre-teens and teens have a much larger choice since they can typically wear adult shoes.
We have found that because our son has something of a bone spur sticking out of his foot, finding the right shoe that supports his foot is very important. He wears his golf shoes every day and he has found that his Adidas Tour 360s
do the best job supporting his foot. They have worn pretty well, also! Of course, golf shoes, like golf clothes, are becoming a fashion statement. In September, you will be able to customize your Footjoy Icon fashion, contemporary and traditional shoes on theirs myjoys.com website. Favorites Geoff Ogilvy and Ryan Moore both wear the cool-style Puma shoes. We like the Tipper style that have the quill technology permanent spikes.
Your golfer girls (moms too!) may be interested in taking a look at the
junior golf shoes they carry at www.hersandbaggers.com.
Again, they can be pretty pricey, but if your daughter is a serious golfer who’s also interested in style, this is the website to check out.
